Orchard Academy Educational Visits Residential Programme 2017-18
At Orchard we believe that learning outside the classroom through residential experiences equips our children with invaluable life and learning skills, whilst they are on their journey as responsible citizens following the school creed.
Young people of all ages benefit from real life ‘hands on’ experiences; when they can see, hear, touch and explore the world around them and have opportunities to experience challenge and adventure – Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.
Year 3 – Whitemoor Lakes, Staffordshire – Monday 30th April to Wednesday 2nd May 2018
A two night residential that includes outdoor and adventurous activities at the centre.
Approximate cost: £155 per child includes all transportation, equipment hire and full board.
Year 4 – Edgmond Hall, Shropshire – Monday 9th April to Thursday 12th April 2018
A three night residential that includes outdoor environmental learning activities at the centre.
Approximate cost: £230 per child includes all transportation, activities and full board.
Year 5 – Ghyll Head Centre, Windermere, Cumbria - Monday 23rd April to Friday 27th April 2018
A four night residential that includes outdoor and adventurous activities in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
Approximate cost: £250 per child includes all transportation, equipment hire and full board.
Year 6 – The Isle of Wight Experience (The Lorron Hotel), Lake, Isle of Wight - Monday 9th July to Friday 13th July 2018
A four night residential that includes cultural experiences, day trips and explorations around the beautiful island.
Approximate cost: £295 per child includes all transportation, full board and entrance fees.
Financial assistance is available for all residential visits subject to personal circumstances and upon application in writing to Mr. Callum Brown (Head of School).
Parents meetings for all visits will be held in year groups during the Autumn Term 2017.
All prices may vary subject to the final numbers of children attending each residential.
