Orchard Academy Educational Visits Residential Programme 2018-19

At Orchard we believe that learning outside the classroom through residential experiences equips our children with invaluable life and learning skills, whilst they are on their journey as responsible citizens following the school creed.

Young people of all ages benefit from real life ‘hands on’ experiences; when they can see, hear, touch and explore the world around them and have opportunities to experience challenge and adventure –  Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.

Year 3 Whitemoor Lakes Residential - 29th April to 1st May 2019

We have been offered the opportunity to take our Year 3 children to Whitemoor Lakes Outdoor Pursuits Centre in Staffordshire next year, for a two night residential trip. This is an excellent opportunity for the children to experience a variety of outdoor and adventurous activities in a safe, purpose built environment. Whitemoor Lakes Centre is run by ACUK and is located in the heart of glorious Staffordshire providing the ideal backdrop for fun, adventure and comfort. Opened in 2011, the centre has quickly grown to become the byword for quality, safety and enjoyment. During the visit the children will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities such as climbing, abseiling and team challenges with fully qualified staff.

The cost of the residential will be approximately £165 and this will include: full board and lodgings, activities, equipment hire and return coach travel. This figure will be finalised once we know how many children are joining us. You will be able to split the payments into monthly instalments.

In order for us to give you more information regarding this visit, you are invited to a parents meeting on Thursday 25th
